According to marlindemocrat, a request to site a manufactured home (MH) near the Marlin Men’s Civic Association building led to some confusion at the Marlin (Texas) City Council meeting recently. While city attorney Mike Dixon remembered drafting an ordinance regarding the placement of MH, City Secretary Sandra Herring said no such ordinance had passed.
Council members Cecil Sparks and Billie Jean Scaggs thought the city had passed something, and Mayor Pro Tem Scottie Henderson was concerned that no one from the city’s planning and zoning commission were at the meeting. MHProNews has learned that Dixon did differentiate for the council that mobile homes were made before the middle of 1976 and manufactured homes were made after that.
The council decided to table action on the request for a month. Marlin is just south of Waco, Texas. ##
