From Colorado, the Wet Mountain Tribune reports that the town of Silver Cliff saw an uptick in building and zoning permits issued in 2010. A total of 29 permits were issued in Silver Cliff last year as compared to 20 in 2009 and three of the 29 involved factory-built housing. Of the total issued last year, one was for a new residence, one for a multi-dwelling unit, six were garages and/or storage sheds, 10 were additions/remodels/repairs, one was a commercial building, two were manufactured homes, one was a modular home, one was a temporary structure, three were for driveways, two were special use permits, four were permit renewals, one was for a sign, one was a variance application and one was for a subdivision exemption. The numbers aren’t large, but we enjoy pointing out that new permits for manufactured homes were double those for site-built and there were three times as many permits given for projects involving factory-built housing.
