MiamiHerald and MiamiNewsTimes reports that a landlordwas arrested for ramming a front end loader into an occupied rental home. Miller had rented the mobile home to Michelle Valdez, age 23, her brother, sister and law and Valdez’s three children.
Valdez was current on her payments, but according to reports, had irritated the property owner by using a table in a yard sale at the home site. The impact of the front end loader caused the roof of the rental to collapse while children were still inside.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reports that 51-year-old Miller was arrested and held without bond, charged with attempted murder. The damage forced the family’s departure from the rental. “Good, then I got what I wanted,” Miller told police. Fortunately, no one was injured. The tenants had allegedly agreed to vacate the home by the first of December, but Miller was obviously unwilling to wait.
(Editor’s Note: this would make a textbook case in your state’s manufactured housing association meeting of how not to deal with or evict a manufactured home community resident.)
