Frontiersman tells MHProNews the Builders Choice, Inc. plant in Meadow Lakes, Alaska outside Anchorage goes through 5,000 board feet of lumber each day making trusses for man camps for the North Slope, six-plex housing units, and airplane hangars. While currently only 27 people work at the facility, Builders Choice opened its first modular plant in Anchorage in 2004 and intends to expand its Meadow Lakes plant to produce modular units within the year as the area grows, doubling its work force there. The company opened a modular production facility in South Dakota in 2011.
