County Approving Amendment to Allow MH Following DisasterBy Matthew Silver / Manufactured Homes, news-at-noon, People, regulation / July 25, 2011 July 25, 2011 Floyd County GA Board of Commissioners logo The Rome News Tribune reports from Floyd County in northwestern Georgia that the Floyd County Board of Commissioners will pass an ordinance extending the time manufactured housing may be used in times of declared disaster. Following a disaster in the county, the amendment will permit a person to live in a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) manufactured home up to 180 days, with the possibility of another 180 being added. The amendment must be made to the United Land Development Code (ULDC), which is supported by the Planning Director, Sue Hiller. Previously, the ULDC has not had language dealing with manufactured housing in case of a disaster
