Following a story MHProNews posted Nov. 13, 2015 regarding a new ordinance in Mojave County, Arizona that restricts siting of manufactured homes (MH) to no older than seven years, kdminer tells MHProNews the County Board of Supervisors will weigh a request from the Manufactured Housing Industry of Arizona to delay or amend the impending law. The law is scheduled to take effect Dec. 2, 2015.
Retailers and installers have protested that it would choke off a substantial amount of MH generated revenue, and would essentially make worthless any home older than seven years. Individual home owners would not be able to sell an older home, regardless of the condition, or buy one to site in the county.
In a story MHProNews originally posted May 1, 2012, responsibility of the administration of manufactured homes moved from the state level to the county level. ##
