At the meeting of the Madison County Board in Edwardsville, Illinois, new rules for siting manufactured homes in unincorporated areas were adopted, according to what the altondailynews tells MHProNews. In addition to a $300 fee each time the property changes residents, the new rules include:
- A manufactured home in any zoning district must have a $300 special use permit.
- A legal ad must be placed in the newspaper.
- Registered letters must be sent to neighbors.
- A sign on the property will indicate a special use permit has been applied for, and notification of a public hearing.
- In addition to the $300, a new special use permit application must be submitted each time a property changes residents.
The vote was 20-6 in favor of the new rules, which do not apply to manufactured home communities. ##
