The History Channel says that “While you take your three day weekend, remember those who struggled to get Friday and Saturday off.” Friday and Saturday? Didn’t they mean Saturday and Sunday? No hyphen between ‘three day?’ Oops. But those are examples of what paying attention to the details will get you here on MHProNews.
Here’s another. When you start this History Channel video, don’t get confused by the fact that they open with Canada’s ‘Labour Day,’ it tees up the topic for those of us here south of that border.
Yes, in Canada the word ‘labor’ is spelled with a u, just like in jolly old England. All of which may cause regular readers to wonder, how is it that we get our own typos? Please, let’s deal with that after dawn, breaks, okay?
Happy Labor Day, on what many consider the unofficial end to summer. We hope and pray that Hurricane Dorian doesn’t make it deadly for some, or a disastrous mess for millions of others.
Be thankful for the labor rights earned in the U.S. well over a century ago. It’s a reminder that in almost any form one wants to ponder, freedom is never free.
