Western Petroleum LLC and its parent company, Pilot Logistics, are facing up to $30 million in fines for a crew camp violating zoning regulations in North Dakota’s Bakken oil patch, according to crookstontimes.com. The Williston Herald reports a conditional use permit for the site was approved in 2011 for 40 recreational vehicles (RVs) and seven modular units, but the permits were never renewed. A recent inspection at the site discovered 30 RVs, hook-ups for ten more and seven modular homes plus two houses. MHProNews has learned each structure will be fined $1,000 a day for each day of violation. ##
