The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 263 points in today’s trading for three reasons, according to what CNNMoney tells MHProNews. The first is the high investors are riding based on Federal Reserve’s Chairwoman Janet Yellen saying the economy is not strong enough for interest rates to be raised. Secondly, the proposed merger of several large firms always raises the lustre of the Big Board for investors. Third, the Chinese government is investing in infrastructure to promote trade.
The Dow moved up 1.5 percent to close at 17,976.31. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq advanced +1.15 percent, +56.22 points to close at 4,947.44, while the S&P 500 similarly gained, +1.22 percent, +25.22 points to finish at 2,086.24.
The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite Value likewise climbed, adding +3.61%, to end the day at 671.1 while stocks we cover related to the manufactured housing industry all closed nicely up or even, except Skyline Corp. which fell -2.23 prcent.
