A man in Arizona claiming to be a contractor, licensed manufactured home mover and man of God “doing the Lord’s work” is actually convicted con artist Gerald Brenner, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD)in Tucson. Alleged victim Nigel Morgan contacted him through an ad on Craigslist, and now believes Brenner has defrauded hundreds of thousands of dollar over the past five years.
“I determined through research that he didn’t actually own the home whatsoever,” said Morgan. “He’d actually sold that home to four or five other persons as well as myself. He appeared legitimate as a contractor. He claimed he was a licensed contractor, licensed to move manufactured homes.” Morgan began his research after Brenner failed to deliver the manufactured house last Dec, despite cash receipts and signed agreements, as kvoa-tv informs MHProNews.
On a YouTube video in 2012 Brenner introduced himself as Pastor Brenner from Gila River, saying, “I got legal situations, I got fears, I got worries. I got things I’m dealing with from the past that I can’t get rid of.”
Tom Peine, spokesman for PCSD, says the victims stretch from Arizona into California, and he believes Brenner has left the state. One victim who lost $10,000 confronted Brenner at his home. Peine said when the victim arrived, “Brenner is in the process of moving out of his house. He talks to the victim and says he has no money that he could give him because he’s spent all his money gambling. There was no mobile home, there’s no money refund, there’s no nothing.”
Says Morgan: “God’s work was transformed into Lucifer’s work more accurately.” ##
