All three major indices fell over one percent in today’s trading as concerns grew over the impending rise in the interest rate, although it is not definite when the increase will hit. Meanwhile, Time Warner stock rose 7.26 percent on word Charter Communications intends to buy the conglomerate for $55 billion, and the Vatican bank made a big profit.
Meanwhile, the Yahoo Manufactured Housing Composite Value (MHCV) lost -1.18 percent, to close at 643.3. All but three manufactured housing stocks we cover closed down or even. Cavco Industries advanced +1.02 percent, while Killam Properties slipped more than other tracked stocks, -1.70 percent.
On the Big Board:
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell -1.04 percent, -190.48 points, to end the day at 18,041.54.
The NASDAQ edged down -1.11 hpercent, -1.43 points, to close at 5,089.36.
The S&P 500 also nudged down, -1.03 percent, -21.86 points, to end at 2,104.20.
