CNNMoney reports the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose a mere 22.56 points during the day, as investors stepped back from yesterday’s blockbuster. However, the month of October has seen the value increase 12 percent, and the gains have been the best since January 1987. The Dow closed at 12,231.11, a gain of 0.18 percent for the day. The Yahoo! Finance Manufactured Housing Composite Value gained 0.80 percent to close at 862.20. Most housing stocks fell. Affiliated Managers Group 97.06-1.33 (-1.35%).
