Oxford Languages says that a mashup is: “a mixture or fusion of disparate elements.” On 7.23.2024 a popular talk radio pundit spoke about a string of examples of public officials who were ‘eager to look the other way.’ Hold that thought as we segue to the Katie Pruitt video “Look the Other Way” which reminds millions that there have been various times in our nation – past and present – when people felt that urge to take their eyes off something. “Katie Pruitt is a Nashville transplant from the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. Pruitt tackles human topics such as religion, mental health, and contemporary love songs with a modern twist,” says the bio of her website. To set the stage for this focused topic: “If you say that someone looks the other way, you are critical of them because they pay no attention to something unpleasant that is happening,” stated the Collins Dictionary. Per that source, the full explanation of that expression is: “If you say that someone looks the other way, you are critical of them because they pay no attention to something unpleasant that is happening, when they should be dealing with it properly.” So, there are various motivations that cause people to look the other way. The William Wilberforce context is addressed further below.

Some want to preserve their positions and prefer to look the other way.

2) Those examples are illuminating.

Dictionary defined the expression in this way.

Deliberately overlook something

Deliberately overlook something, especially something of an illicit nature. For example, They’re not really entitled to a discount but the sales manager decided to look the other way.

3) According to Oxford Languages:

• deliberately ignore wrongdoing by others.

“the authorities simply seem content to look the other way”

4) With that backdrop, here is the Katie Pruitt – “Look The Other Way” “Official Music Video.”

Some music videos do an amazing job of framing their message. Note that in the still from Pruitt’s video is an apparently real newspaper above, the word USA is removed from the front page in front of Today, replaced by %$#&^! So, this appears to be an actual left-leaning USA Today issue. On the back page of that front section of that newspaper is paid pitch entitled “An Open Letter to Beyond Meat and Impossible Food” by Lifelight. That Open Letter is found at this link here.

5) Why hasn’t the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI), which takes in millions of dollars annually, taken out an “open letter” or better yet, initiated a campaign to press an array of issues that they have at various times claimed to support? Why has MHI aligned themselves with conventional builders who are the competition of manufactured housing?

Clearly, some are looking the other way.

In that same still above in the Katie Pruitt – “Look The Other Way” video, there appears to be fresh fruits, eggs, and what appears to be wholesome slice of whole grain bread. Beyond the plate, coaster, knife and fork, there is a coffee mug. “Covfe” is visible on the coffee mug. That is an apparent reference to a made up word or a typo. Per left-leaning Wikipedia: “Covfefe is a word, widely presumed to be a typographical error, that Donald Trump used in a viral tweet when he was President of the United States. It quickly became an Internet meme.”

6) The left-leaning Atlantic said of “Covfefe” this: “But Covfefe remains the tweet that best illustrates Trump’s most preternatural gift: He knows how to captivate people, how to command and divert the attention of the masses.”

Left-leaning CNN said about that same dustup:

“Covfefe,” for the Trump base, means a media freakout. It means the press just not getting Trump. It signifies his ability to play the press like a fiddle.”

7) But that Covfefe reference is just one of several elements in the still of the Pruitt “Look The Other Way” video. This article and analysis aren’t going to be a commentary on every aspect of her video beyond that one still image and the thought-provoking title and theme. It is rather to illustrate the notion that people now, and in times past, have for a variety of reasons “looked the other way.”

8) “You may choose to look the other way, but you can never say again that you did not know.” – William Wilberforce. EPM.org provides this context for Wilberforce’s comments.

Historically, William Wilberforce was an abolitionist in England. He was a committed Christian who wanted to free all the slaves and abolish the slave trade. He was ultimately successful. His story is told in many places, including in the popular movie Amazing Grace. He had a relationship with John Newton (who wrote the song Amazing Grace) and Newton had a great influence on him.

But I think Wilberforce was saying here that when you see the realities of the slave trade, you can never go back. He used to stand up in Parliament, and would keep slave chains under his seat and pull them out and drape them around himself as he was speaking. He was so unpopular. Everybody was against him. Hardly anyone was in favor of abolishing the slave trade when he first spoke against it. But then, over time, he was successful. Literally just a few days before he died, slavery was abolished in England.”

9) There are any number of issues in the U.S.A. and in MHVille where professionals “are looking the other way.”

MHProNews doesn’t need to pull out the equivalent of the chains used in the slave trade, which was William Willberforce’s historic issue. We do reports, along with our sister site MHLivingNews, to educate, inform, and on some level perhaps inspire people NOT to look the other way.

MHProNews doesn’t claim to be a modern Wilberforce. But we do raise the specter of facts and evidence which compel consideration of vexing issues like homelessness. It is apparent from the last 3.5 years that merely tossing more money at the problem, and not addressing the underlying causes, is not a solution. Homelessness is worse now that some 4 years ago, HUD’s own figures reveal the pattern. While not the only problem, a key problem is a lack of affordable manufactured homes.  Yet HUD is paradoxically the primary federal regulator of HUD Code manufactured homes.  You can’t make this up. Once you see these realities: “you can never say again that you did not know,” applying the words of Wilberforce.

10) Certain manufactured housing linked firms are apparently involved in causing unaffordability while posturing and claiming to be doing the opposite. People can look the other way, but facts are what they are. “You may choose to look the other way but you can never say again that you did not know,” said Wilberforce.

11) The report linked above raised a contemporary Wilberforce style concern. The vast majority of young adults can’t afford to buy a home. Millions think they can’t afford a family. We are going from an ownership society into a renter’s society. That means we are moving from being free citizens with inherent God-given rights protected by a constitutional order to being “mere subjects” at ‘the mercy of the powerful.’ Some in MHVille are working for companies like that, and the remarks by employees illustrates those ‘you can’t keep looking away’ concerns.

12) The leading trade media platforms for NOT looking the other way in MHVille are MHLivingNews and MHProNews.  Our complimentary pro-industry trade media sites are well known for creatively pulling back the veils that obscure troubling realities that may cause someone to look the other way.

13) The powers that be, the would-be ruling class in America is no secret. Warren Buffett considers himself to be part of that ruling class and he has bluntly said there is class warfare in remarks quoted by two left-leaning publications.  But it isn’t just Buffett’s remarks, quoted in the image graphic below about his class is purportedly winning and has ‘won’ the battle of class warfare. A contemporary leaked CitiGroup memo found here said that the U.S. is a plutonomy. More recent university level research that will be the focus of a planned report by MHProNews underscore that point. How is it possible? Because for a variety of reasons, people often look the other way.

14) While our circle of family, colleagues, and friends includes Muslims, this writer for MHProNews isn’t Muslim. That noted, the late Malcom X – a controversial American Muslim – observed the following.  “The white liberal is the worst enemy of America, and the worst enemy of the black man.”

15) But this tendency to look the other way, as noted above, isn’t just occurring in national politics. It has been taking place in MHVille for the bulk of the 21st century.  Honest and ethically minded individuals should not look the other way when it comes to exploring, understanding, and finally fixing what has gone wrong for manufactured housing in the 21st century.

The theme music to the Chris Plante Show is a clip from the song Jump Into The Fire – by Harry Nilsson – 1974. Several times a month, Plante will make the point that the Democratic Party isn’t democratic. That’s what Black Lives Matter (BLM) recently said about the coronation of Kamala Harris (D) as the ‘nominee’ of the Democratic Party.

16) These definitions are useful to understand what has arguably been occurring in the U.S.A., and on a different level, at MHI.

Legal Implications: Some ethics experts believe that the draft letter should include a disclosure stating who is paying for it, as required by California law on campaign advertising¹.

17) The corruption in the Republican Party is arguably in the process of being rooted out.  Donald Trump took on the Bush-Cheney wing of the party which lied their way into Middle Eastern wars and Trump roasted them for that time and again. Among Democrats, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK Jr.) finally jumped ship to say that Democrats like Biden are the biggest threat to democracy and are the party of the wealthy. Democrat Rep. Seth Moulton (MA-D) has said similarly.  The big money has been behind the Democrats for years, per left-leaning George Soros founded Open Secrets.

18) Plante uses satire and humor mixed with the news of the day M-F- 9 to noon Eastern. Plante says he was a longtime Democrat, a former award-winning CNN reporter, who finally could not continue down those paths. He grew up in a news media household, and he says that much of the corporate media is why the Democrats – and establishment Republicans – are able to get away with what they have for so long. Compare his thesis with what the largely leftist packed insights in the award-winning from Shadows of Liberty revealed.

19) It is not going to be easy or instant, but when we look back at over 100 years of Democratic Party history, what is revealed is a racist “progressive” party that has shifted power away from the masses to the elites and connected. Only seeing the truth, and then acting on the truth will set us free.

ECNCF = ECN Capital Group – includes manufactured home lender Triad Financial Services.

ELS = Equity LifeStyle Properties – includes land lease manufactured home communities (MHCs), but also RV and marine slips holdings. Also has captive manufactured home retail operations, and parent to Datacomp/MHVillage.

FGF = FG Financial Group – FG Communities “Owns and Operates Growing Portfolio of Manufactured Housing Communities.” KEY = KeyCorp – manufactured home community financing and manufactured home single-family mortgage financing.
