According to walsalladvertiser.co.uk, Great Britain’s Housing Minster, Brandon Lewis MP visited the site of the first two modular, affordable homes of a planned series of 40 being constructed in Walsall, a town with 269,000 in the metro area just northwest of Birmingham. Designed and manufactured at the Accord Group’s LoCal Homes, the homes were assembled in a day, the first time that has happened in the UK, as MHProNews has learned. Alan Yates, of Accord, says, “The demand for housing across the country remains high, but we are confident that offsite manufacturing offers the solution to increase the building of more homes, efficiently and to a high-quality with less waste.” The total project will cost $1.5 million and is expected to be completed in 2015. ##
