The United Kingdom’s 24Dash reports that Powerwall has developed a three-bedroom energy efficient modular house for £57,000 (just under $95,000), excluding land and foundation, to help meet affordable housing needs in England. The house comes equipped with finished interiors, bathrooms and kitchens, and the estimated annual fuel cost is just over $125 a year. Exceeding sustainability and environmental requirements, the modular house has a life expectancy of 200 years, 71 percent reduced carbon emissions and energy cost savings of up to 67 percent. Powerwall’s managing director Domenic Tedesco said, “There is a huge demand for affordable housing and we believe the concept will attract substantial interest from housing associations, social housing organisations and developers specialising in low cost accommodation.”
