The Shawnee County Commission in Kansas just south of Topeka is considering a zoning exception to allow temporary siting of a manufactured home (MH) for a family whose home was seriously damaged by a fire. The family, whose property is zoned rural agricultural, need to be close in order to take care of their farm animals, and thus want the MH placed on their land for the estimated six months required to rebuild their home. As MHProNews has learned from cjonline.com, in their written request the family has cited hardship concerns due to the owners’ ages and health conditions.
