A federal judge has ruled on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) case filed by Leandra English.
English was selected by outgoing agency director, Richard Codray, to replace himself. She sued to claim Cordray’s old job.
Meanwhile, the CFPB’s own general counsel advised CFPB staff that the president’s pick, Mick Mulvaney, should be treated by CFPB’s staff as being the proper acting director, as opposed to taking instructions from English.
Mulvaney reacts in this video to the ruling, as do others on this video from right-of-center media outlet, Fox Business.
The episode has caused some to comment on how emblematic it is of the contempt certain bureaucrats have for the will of the people, and the rule of law.
House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling Reacts to CFPB Controversy
The video below with former CFPB attorney, Ronald Rubin, sheds light on the controversies. Rubin also covers other, lesser-known insights about the agency.

That could yield an administrative solution to the issues that the manufactured housing industry has tried to resolve through legislation for over half a decade.
