A $10 million contract will be shared by several Florida colleges to provide training and education for the manufactured and modular housing industries, according to a report to MHProNews from sfcollege.edu.
In a partnership with Santa Fe College, Polk and Seminole State Colleges, Miami Dade College Kendall Campus will serve as the lead fiscal agent.
As part of the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) program within the Department of Labor (DOL), the project will bring in employers and industry leaders to help train and advise students in factory-built housing construction techniques with the aim of hiring graduates.
Under the TAACCCT program within the Department of Labor (DOL), Santa Fe College will receive $1.47 million over the next four years, offering training to potential employees at the pre-vocational, vocational, entry level, apprentice, journeyman, and supervisory levels. ##
