Following up on a story we have been covering for over a year, and last reported on July 25, 2012, voicesnews says the Conservation Commission, Inland Wetlands Agency (CCIWA) in Oxford, Connecticut, has acknowledged receipt of Garden Homes Management’s newest application for a 124-unit manufactured housing complex despite not having received the necessary fees. Normally the fees must accompany the application before the CCIWA rules. Garden Homes states the newest proposal does not impact the wetlands, a contention that experts will determine. Garden Homes first proposed the project in 2006, and following a series of denials by the Planning and Zoning Commission and the CCIWA, and re-submissions by Garden Homes, a court ruled the project was necessary to fulfill the need for affordable housing. Further, Garden Homes says it has issues with the application fees. MHProNews says “stay tuned.”
