Norwich University and Middlebury College will co-host a send-off event for their student-teams competing in October in the international U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon in Irvine, California. Governor Peter Shumlin will be the keynote speaker at the Statehouse event in Montpelier on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Norwich University President Richard Schneider and Middlebury College President Ronald Liebowitz will also speak at the event, which is set for from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., along with speakers who are student-team members. Unique aspects of their designs will be showcased and celebrated with complimentary refreshments and live music. The biennial solar home design competition will be held at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine, CA. Oct. 3-13. The vtdigger tells MHProNews that Norwich’s home is named the DeltaT-90, while Middlebury’s is dubbed the InSite. ##
