A four inch torrential downpour inundated Hebron, Ohio, just south of Newark in near dead center of the state, according to what the NewarkAdvocate tells MHProNews.com. Of the 144 homes affected by the flood, 30-40 were at the Greenbriar Village Mobile Home Park, where the power had to be cut and residents were told to evacuate. When Richard Remley woke up, his MH was surrounded by almost three feet of water. It ruined his landscaping, engulfed his shed, muddied his two cars, and sent his wife and dog in a rescue boat to a Red Cross shelter. The tide receded sufficiently that by afternoon he was spraying the mud and debris from his vehicles and the cement driveway. Another resident rescued by boat from Greenbriar said his siding was slightly damaged, but the water did not get inside. The storm also flooded homes and businesses in Newark, causing many delays, flooding streets, yards, and basements.
