Earlier this month, the Daily Business News on MHProNews looked at the issue of work-life balance. It’s a handy topic to be reflecting on, as the 2019 New Year approaches. So, before diving into how CEOs use their time, readers who may have missed it should consider reading the linked topic – Part I – below.
Work, Life Balance and MHVille, Monday Morning Manufactured Housing Meeting
Visual Capitalist (VC) has thoughtfully provided MHProNews with the following infographic on how CEO’s use their time.
MHProNews took their information, and reformatted it as is shown below. This format allows it to more easily fit into this post, and would therefor be more easy to read.
Notice how work-life balance comes into play for company CEOs?
Note too how many company leaders grapple with the challenges of career-related stress?
Then see how CEOs split their time between those:
- inside their own organization – 70%,
- their board – 5%,
- outside strategic partners – 16%,
- plus outside groups, media, government, and giving at 9% of their total time.
Not everyone is made for, nor desires, the role of CEO – Chief Executive Officer. A former team mate and still-in-touch colleague from Wisconsin – Jerry Clark – has said that sales people and CEOs are two essential roles for most companies. That’s an interesting manufactured housing industry perspective.
The video below begins with what looks like a commercial, but it’s actually an analogy, and a smooth one. They use wisdom and humor to make some useful points in under 3 minutes. At approaching 490,000 views, and widely praised, you may find it helpful in considering the issue of work-life balance.
An interesting, and not unrelated look at the issue of balance between tech and the personal touch is found linked further below – by Tim Connor, CSP – under related reports.
How you approach your work-life balance is clearly up to you. But as we approach the new year, this is a good time to ponder the topic.
