While Tucker Carlson’s exit from formerly more right-leaning Fox News is the talk on social media, much of left- and right-wing news, that subject will clarify in time. It’s significant, but perhaps more as an indicator of what MHProNews has said about Fox News about 2½ years ago. Fox has moved left, and the Murdoch family and Fox board member Paul Ryan have not made it a secret that they have moved away from the 45th President of the United States (POTUS) Donald J. Trump. Dan Bongino is out at Fox too, and more exits are rumored to be coming. Senior executive producer of Tucker Carlson Tonight, Justin Wells, was let go Monday, multiple sources told ABC News. HuffPo noted that Carlson signed off Friday night with a cheerful: “We’ll be back on Monday.” An industry source told MHProNews that the departure of Carlson from Fox should be viewed as an in-kind contribution to the Biden-Harris campaign. In the Dominion case a message from Carlson reportedly referred to Fox’s management as ‘incompetent liberals.’ Specifically, the left-leaning Washington Post quoted Carlson saying that Fox has: “A combination of incompetent liberals and top leadership with too much pride to back down is what’s happening.” From the vantagepoint of MHVille, one question about the Carlson departure is this: what percentage of his viewers will break with Fox now? Habits can be powerful. Will the lionshare of Fox viewers stay loyal, just as an array of reasons – including habit – have kept numbers of MHI members loyal despite that trade group’s 21st century history? Be all that as it may, Fox’s corporate gamble in canning the popular show host arguably means that network now faces its Bud Light moment, MHProNews’ focus in this report today is on an upcoming event that is not yet getting enough mainstream media play. Namely, the “How Many More?” event planned for April 29th at the Texas state capitol city of Austin. Why spill digital ink for that event? Because much of the housing crisis in the U.S. can’t be solved given the construction status quo and so long as the southern border is essentially open. Why? Because as How Many More? indicates, it is likely that more people are crossing the border than there is construction of new housing units in the U.S. Additionally, the open border is dangerous. New York City’s new Democratic Mayor Eric Adams has asked for federal support to the tune of $4 billion dollars. Per the left-leaning New York Times just a few days ago: “Mr. Adams, who has said it could cost the city as much as $4 billion to feed and house the migrants over the next few years, urged the president to provide the city with funding, and to allow the arriving migrants work authorizations.” That is just one city, a big one, but only one metro in one state. When D.C. and virtually all other states are experiencing their own ‘invasion’ of migrants, it is an example of how the obvious is being downplayed by numbers of politicos and media outlets as an apparent factor in the affordable housing crisis. More on that in Part 2 of this report.
Part 1
Per How Many More, the following.
“On April 29, we will assemble at the Texas Capitol in Austin to demand that our elected leaders take action to end the humanitarian crisis at our southern border.” The website says it will be from 1 to 4 PM at the Texas Capitol.
“The time for action is now.”
The failure of our current border policies makes every American complicit in the spread of human misery. We will no longer accept the erosion of America or its values by allowing the humanitarian crisis at our southern border to continue.
- How Many More…
Texans must be threatened, extorted, and held hostage on their own properties?
- How Many More…
Texas communities must see their hospitals and schools overrun by non-citizens?
- How Many More…
Americans must die from Fentanyl poisoning?
- How Many More…
American dollars must flow to Mexican cartels and their Chinese money launderers?
- How Many More…
illegal immigrants must be raped, drowned, murdered and see their children sold into slavery?”
They have an RSVP link here, but it would also seem obvious that people could just show up too.
Again, from their website, is the following.
“Failure to act is undermining our national security. Texas has a moral and constitutional responsibility to act. The How Many More Rally will demand that lawmakers take these actions to save our nation.”
According to the group are the following “key facts.”
- Only 31% of Americans approve of how the current administration is handling immigration, a new low.
- One person in the U.S. dies from a fentanyl overdose every seven minutes.
- Fentanyl is the leading cause of death for Americans age 18 to 45, with the number killed by the drug up 94% since 2019.
- In January 2023, the equivalent of more than 320 million lethal doses and 1,413 pounds of fentanyl were seized at the southern border.
- 60% of unaccompanied alien children are caught by cartels and exploited through child pornography and drug trafficking.
- 6 million illegal immigrants have crossed the border since 2020.
- 2 million illegal gotaways have escaped past Border Patrol into the U.S. since 2020.
- At least 82 people on the terror watchlist have been apprehended trying to enter the U.S. between ports of entry so far this fiscal year [2023].
How Many More are asking for the following from public officials.
1) Declare an invasion of our southern border
Legally. Officially. And completely without reservation.
2) Define Mexican cartels as terror organizations
Take all actions possible to eradicate the cartels in our country.
3) Seize cartel bank accounts and assets.
American money is their lifeblood. Stop the flow of funds through U.S. banks and financial technology companies that benefit the cartels.
4) Establish a Texas Border Defense Unit to protect Texans.
Make this new force permanent with broad powers to confront the cartels. It’s up to Texans to save Texans and our nation.
Part 2: Additional Information with More MHProNews Analysis and Commentary in Brief
The border is one issue among many that impact the affordable housing crisis and thus manufactured housing. But one common point that may not seem immediately evident is this. The border and MHVille’s woes share this: a lack of federal commitment to enforce existing laws.
Follow the law.
‘Follow the law’ – could be a three-word mantra uttered by the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) in every interview or op-ed they do. ‘Follow the law’ should be followed by the details and explanations of what laws are being ignored and why it matters to tens of millions. That would be pithy way to begin to get the message across to every YIMBYite and to those in the NIMBY camp that can be persuaded.
As noted above, the two examples below of prior reports reveal how MHProNews has periodically looked at these issues and the role they play in the ongoing housing crisis in the U.S.A.

Texas is the state where their branch of the GOP offered a bold – go to the root issues – agenda last year.
While millions may feel ‘helpless’ over the lack of border controls and its obvious impact housing, jobs, schools, healthcare and a range of social services it is an issue that ought to be factored into a motivation for citizens to vote for candidates that have a record of supporting a strong border.
