According to what thehill tells MHProNews, recreational vehicles (RV) are currently exempt from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)’s rules for manufactured homes (MH). New proposed rules say those RVs that are used as a “primary residence or permanent dwelling” should not be exempt.
HUD wants to redefine RVs as built on a structure, not certified as an MH, “designed only for recreational use and not as a primary residence or for permanent occupancy.” The public has 60 days to comment. ##
