Washington, D.C., October 3, 2014 – The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) reports that according to official statistics compiled on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), manufactured housing industry production growth continued during August 2014. Just-released statistics indicate that HUD Code manufacturers produced 5,955 homes in August 2014, a 1.2% increase over the 5,886 HUD Code homes produced during August 2013. Cumulative industry production for 2014 now totals 42,305 homes, a 6.2% increase over the 39,812 HUD Code homes produced through August 2013.

A further analysis of the official industry statistics shows that the top ten shipment states from the beginning of the industry production rebound in August 2011 through August 2014 — with cumulative, monthly, current year-to-date (2014) and prior year-to-date (2013) shipment totals per category as indicated — are:
