The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform tells MHProNews that, according to figures from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, HUD Code production rose sharply in Feb. to 6,129 homes, 27.6 percent higher than the 4,803 MH produced in Feb. 2015.

In terms of shipments by state, Texas continues to lead by about three times Louisiana, the state in second place, which is followed in turn by Florida, North Carolina and Alabama.

MHARR notes the potential for even larger gains exists if HUD would refrain from imposing unnecessary regulations and the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) would abide by Congress’ duty to serve law by offering securitization for manufactured home chattel loans. ##
