The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) informs MHProNews that statistics from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) indicate the production of HUD Code manufactured homes in Nov. grew 20.6 percent above Nov. 2014, 5,980 over 4,955 last year. On the year, cumulative production stands at 64,887 homes, 8.8 percent over the 59,627 HUD Code homes produced through Nov. 2014.
The top ten shipment states remain in the same order as they have for some time since the rebound in Aug., 2011: Texas tops the list, far and away above the other states, followed by Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, California, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Oklahoma is number ten.
Further, MHARR reminds us that the current HUD Code homes being produced are the best ever, but that major problems remain in the financing of the homes, as the industry has not been successful in realizing the securitization of chattel loans, which comprise over 70 percent of manufactured home consumer loans. ##
