The Department of Housing and Urban Development published a final rule, ASSE 1070-2004, in the Federal Register that amends the Federal Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards by incorporating the correct reference standard for anti-scald devices designed for bathtubs and whirlpool tubs without showers in manufactured homes. A previous rule published Dec. 9, 2013, ASSE 1016-2005, deals with an anti-scalding device in manufactured homes designed for shower and tub-shower combinations. The final rule incorporates ASSE 1070-2004, and becomes effective July 3, 2014. MHProNews understands from insurancenewsnet.com the new ruling focuses on water temperature and water pressure control.
