“I ordered a vast increase in work enforcement … We’ve got a plan right now [of] 200 worksites a week,” said President Donald J. Trump’s “border czar” Tom Homan. For those who may have been working in the manufactured housing industry, or otherwise do not know or recall, during the first Trump Administration arrests at workplaces were part of the enforcement of U.S. immigration law, as MHProNews reported at the time. While others in MHVille trade media have ignored or downplayed immigration or ICE actions – past, current, or raids to come – this platform has on this date 30 pages with multiple results that include the subject immigration and ICE dating back to 2010, during the Obama-Biden Administration (D). Some readers may recall arrests and immigration actions involving manufactured home communities (MHC) or manufactured home production centers. With that brief reminder, right-leaning Breitbart News Saturday reported on 3.10.2025 that Trump “border czar” Homan is planning to ramp up to “…200 Worksite Checks Every Week.” “Better [for companies] to get square of the law than [for] us [i.e.: ICE] to take action,” Homan said. A focus on worksites “represents a fundamental restructuring,” compared to “the Biden administration’s more measured approach to worksite enforcement,” noted the National Law Review. “Employers across industries must prepare for what many experts anticipate will be the most aggressive immigration enforcement environment in recent history,” that National Law Review article said.
Left-leaning ABC News is among the mainstream media that previously reported similarly to what Breitbart did on this workplace enforcement topic, posting this video that explains the differences between ICE – Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which works in the interior of the U.S. as opposed to the Border Patrol which normally works within 100 miles of the U.S. border.
While the video below of well-known Polk County Florida Sheriff Grady Judd is not about ICE enforcement, it is about an illegal immigrant purportedly committing horrific acts inside the U.S. So, while the ABC News item above includes a predictably left-leaning stance, it must not be thought that illegal immigration is a victimless crime. Nor, in fairness, should every illegal immigrant be thought of as a violent or abusive predator. Many are certainly here to work, but by definition they broke U.S. law if the entered the nation illegally.
Even those who are peacefully in the U.S. to work create ripples of repercussion.
For instance, during the Biden-Harris (D) years, economist E. J. Antoni said that many of the ‘new jobs’ were being taken by the foreign born rather than by native born Americans of whatever gender or race.
The Heritage Foundation said on 6.24.2024: “Over the last year, employment rose 637,000 for foreign-born workers but fell 299,000 for native-born Americans.” “More than 1,000,000 fewer native-born Americans are employed than last year, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS),” per a recent post via left-leaning news aggregator MSN.” “The number of foreign-born workers employed increased by roughly 400,000 year-over-year in November, while 1,094,000 fewer native workers were employed, BLS data shows. The large disparity is partly driven by a decrease in the number of native-born Americans employed of 215,000 from October to November.”
“Biden’s economic legacy, besides 40-year-high inflation and record debt, could perhaps best be described as transforming the American labor market into a temp agency for foreign workers and government bureaucrats,” E.J. Antoni, a research fellow at the Heritage Foundation’s Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget, told the Daily Caller News Foundation regarding the increasing disparity between foreign and native-born employment. “He [Biden] has left behind blue collar America to import new blue voters.”
With that backdrop from across the left-right media divide, here is more of what Breitbart reported.
The flood of migrants has lowered Americans’ wages, raised their housing costs, and reduced the productivity gain and innovation needed to keep pace with China’s rapid evolution. The flood also washed away economic pressure on U.S. employers to find, train, and pay at least 5 million welfare-dependent men who have drifted out of the workforce since 2000.
Employers have greatly reduced their socialization and training of American youths since the 1990s, even though they have many special protections and benefits in law, such as bankruptcy rules and tax deductions.
Employers hire illegals because “they can pay them less, work them harder, and undercut their [law abiding] competition,” Homan said.
Worksites are “the number one place [where] we find victims of trafficking,” Homan said. “The Biden administration stopped it, and that’s why trafficking went sky high — 600% increase in trafficking,” he said.
“We’re going to put an end to it … We’re going to enforce our laws and have the most secure border in my lifetime,” Homan added.
Amid the new federal pressure, employers “can work at now replacing those illegal aliens with somebody with proper status in the country and save themselves from … possible prosecution and penalties,” Homan told Breitbart News.
It isn’t just sad, it is arguably treacherous that the Biden-Harris (D) team allowed so many people into our country illegally. In some ways, it seems apparent now that Biden-Harris (D) team members actively promoted that flow of individuals into the country through federal funding to various NGOs (nongovernmental organizations).
While Secretary of State Marco “Rubio says purge of USAID programs complete, with 83% of agency’s programs gone,” per the video below, that doesn’t mean that the ripple effects of what was done during the Biden-Harris years aren’t still impacting Americans. It should also be noted that there are allegations that some of the protests in favor of USAID and illegal immigrants is funded by left-wing groups.
Note the reference above to the Tides Foundation and the use of dark money networks. Some of those have apparent ties to Warren Buffett funded nonprofits, as MHProNews has previously reported. MHAction, active organizing and protests in the manufactured home industry, is reportedly funded by the Tides which in turn has had ties to Chairman Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway (BRK) – think Clayton Homes, 21st Mortgage, Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, Shaw Carpet and others – involved in manufactured housing.
When tens of billions of dollars are available to fund such ‘dark money’ networks, an array of paid for or ‘AstroTurf’ style illusions can result. While the next screen shot from X may be considered an exaggeration to say that “all” protestors are astroturf or paid for by dark money or other groups, there are certainly reasons to believe that a significant number of past or current protesters were hired to carry signs or do whatever other kind of mischief that can create the illusion of being grass roots when it is not.
Because of the effects of the law of supply and demand, which when free from governmental interference or other forms of market manipulation ought to be understood to be about as reliable as the law of gravity, the presence of immigrant workers in the U.S. illegally distorts the job market and distorts the housing market too.
While the video report above could be construed in ways that Fox may not have intended, because some assert Biden-Harris (D) era policies artificially propped up the economy through a combination of government hiring and other spending mechanisms. But that has just led to more federal debt. With federal debt service now larger than U.S. defense spending that model never was sustainable. Meaning, if a recession does manifest itself, the origins will be due in good part to Biden-Harris era spending.
While the percentage of jobs that were government-linked employment or contract-work during Biden-Harris (D) differs according to the source, numbers of sources indicate that a sizable portion of new job creation was by government.
What is more consistent is that following the Trump-Vance (R) victory in 2024, small business optimism rose sharply.
Pivoting back to the report about Homan per Breitbart.
Bakery owners in Texas are facing felony charges after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) raided their store and arrested eight suspected illegal immigrants.
Lawful permanent residents Leonardo Baez and Nora Alicia Avila-Guel, the owners of Abby’s Bakery named in the federal complaint, admitted to knowing their employees were in the U.S. illegally. Two of the suspected illegal immigrants allegedly confirmed to HSI that the owners knew about their status and “willfully” harbored them.
ICE Raids Could Be Weaponized and May Have Been Weaponized During the First Trump Term
It should be kept in mind that per a manufactured housing industry source deemed reliable during the first term of the Trump Administration ICE raids of rivals to Clayton Homes were sparked by tips from their larger competitors. While anyone that has illegal immigrants working for them or living in their communities could be subject to what may be increasing pressures and methods to get illegals to self-deport or leave via arrest and deportation procedures, it would be prudent to keep in mind that if competitors know they may exploit that knowledge.

If robust border control and deportation efforts take hold, as the various efforts outlined and linked herein suggest are the goals of Trump Administration 2.0 (a.k.a.: T2), several possible impacts on the housing and jobs market can be expected. If numbers of illegal leaving either by self-deportation or by arrests and efforts like those that Border Czar Homan talks about, housing prices may dip and the wages of native-born Americans of whatever gender or ethnic group should be expected to rise. That was to be anticipated, as previous reports like those linked below outline or detail.

Part of a Broader Plan
The combination of factors including decades of foreign wars, often poor U.S. trade policies that date back to the 20th century, a lack of fiscal control that led to decades of waste, fraud, abuse, and corruption in federal spending has to be unraveled and a better economy, better fiscal controls, better trade policies, lower taxes, and an array of other incentives should yield the type of increase in employees pay vs. the cost of living that occurred during the first Trump term in office.
Usually, good things take some time, and it is bad things that can happen more quickly. President Trump, and T2 officials like Tom Homan appear to be focused on the kinds of common-sense policies that caused voters to elect Trump-Vance (R) in the first place. Anti-Trump media may depict this as chaos, but they are discernable elements of pre-announced plans promised during the 2024 campaign.
Getting to ‘no income tax’ for citizens may be more difficult and take longer, but the fact that someone is even talking about it and proposing a method for getting there is clearly superior to other plans during Obama-Biden (D) or Biden-Harris (D). That said, what may be a fair concern or criticism of T2 could be HUD regarding enhanced preemption enforcement or what emerges from the FHFA regarding competitive financing via the Duty to Serve (DTS) legal mandates.
