The Indiana Manufactured Housing Association/Recreation Vehicle Indiana Council (IMHA/RVIC) informs MHProNews that not only has Senator Joe Donnelly (D-IN) sponsored Preserving Access to Manufactured Housing in the Senate, but also three IN House members have signed on to HR 650.
Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-IN), who represents the third congressional district in northeastern Indiana, and Susan Brooks (R-IN) from District 5 in the central part of the state just north of Indianapolis are co-sponsors. They join Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-IN) from District 2 in the Elkhart area as three of the 27 cosponsors of the legislation.
HR 650 would ease the financing restrictions on manufactured housing that were inadvertently included in the Dodd-Frank Reform Act. Last year HR 1779 had 114 cosponsors but did not make it to the House floor for a vote. The Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) has called for 218 signatories to the legislation, which is just over half of the 435 members of the House. ##
