Nathan Smith, Chairman of the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI), is imploring industry members to contact their U. S. representative urging support for H. R. 1779, the Preserving Access to Manufactured Housing Act, when they return to Washington after Labor Day. The Dodd-Frank reform legislation has been successfully moved out of the House Financial Services Committee, but it has yet to be scheduled for a vote on the floor. The House leadership needs to be pressed to schedule a vote on the measure, as MHProNews understands, before it can go to the Senate for their consideration.
