The Bastrop Daily Enterprise of Bastrop, Louisiana, published the residential inspection fees for Morehouse Parish, and noted they are similar to other parishes.  The Morehouse Parish Police Jury hired the Institute for Building Technology and Safety (IBTS), a non-profit, to do residential and commercial inspections.  IBTS services nearby parishes as well.  New residential construction fee is $775, $450 for new modular, $225 for new manufactured housing, $150 for reduced manufactured housing, $400 for new detached structure and $150 for new portable building.  In a conversation with MHMSM, Steve Devainey of IBTS explained that reduced manufacturing housing gives manufactured housing owners of modest means the opportunity to save on their inspection fees.  “If they get the hook-ups right the first time and we don’t have to go back out to inspect, they get the reduced rate,” he noted.
