The National Association of Home Builders tells MHProNews.com the Board of Trustees for its Building Systems Councils (BSC) has chosen Kevin Flaherty as its vice chairman. A 28-year veteran of the building systems industry, Flaherty is vice president of marketing for Genesis Homes and Champion Home Builders in Troy, Michigan. He led Champion’s entry into the modular sector in 2002, and now is responsible for national marketing initiatives and support services for 21 Champion manufacturing plants. The BSC represents the concrete, log, modular and panelized building system industries. “There are plenty of misconceptions in the public about the building systems industry, and the BSC council members and Board of Trustees will continue to address those misconceptions and promote the industry,” said Flaherty. Dwight Hikel, president and CEO of Shelter Systems Limited in Westminster, MD, was chosen as BSC chairman. Jason Blenker of Blenker Building Systems in Amherst, WI will serve as second vice chairman.
