The most recent facts and evidence are in. You could sum it up like this: 12,704,080/1,500,299 = 8.46769877204. That’s 12,704,080 pageviews divided by 1,500,299 visitors which equals 8.46769877204 pageviews per visitor for last 12 months ending 7.31.2023 on MHProNews. Those totals according to third-party Webalizer document the traffic recorded on the largest of a baker’s dozen cPanels that serve MHProNews. It once again reveals that more people flock to MHProNews than any other known news, tips, and views trade media source focused on HUD Code manufactured housing. Further below will be a comparison with the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) and MHProNews. Industry pros and researchers alike should find that comparison of interest. While SimilarWeb reports CNN and Fox are far bigger and have more visitors, engagement by MHProNews visitors as measured by pageviews per visit are far more robust here than on those mainstream news sites. MHI members and pro-MHI ‘news’ sources such as MHInsider, ManufacturedHomes.com, and periodic apparent MHI attack surrogate blogger George Allen’s ‘Community Investor’/EducateMHC site apparently don’t dare show their respective actual news/blog traffic. Why not? While making bold sounding claims like being ‘definitive’ – but failing to back it up with words, data, and deeds that match – that posturing without proof could lead someone to the conclusion that they tacitly admit that MHProNews is far larger than they are. Indeed, past evidence hints that MHProNews may have more traffic and pageviews than all three of those MHI member sources combined. What accounts for the difference between MHProNews and the big talk, no proof trade media rivals? Perhaps it is best illustrated and summed up in relevant content. Critical, important, and timely topics that are embarrassing to the MHI narrative are missing on their sites but are found on MHProNews. Examples of that are documented in illustrations linked here, here, here, here, and here.
A review of those subjects, some of which MHI has at times weighed in on, and others that MHI has attempted to ignore, includes a topic that manufactured housing professionals and others peering into the mysterious world of manufactured homes found to be the runaway most compelling for the month of July 2023. A scandal involving purported fraud committed by a prominent MHI member is entirely missing from the webpages of MHI, MHInsider, ManufacturedHomes.com, or Allen’s blog as is documented in the search linked here. The news was important enough for a lengthy exposé on the Detroit News, but was apparently too hot to handle for the four named information sources? That one top read report and analysis shown below likely has more traffic than all four of those websites get combined for some weeks.
It is a willingness to explore issues that matter those causes industry professionals to flock like a magnet. As those with keen minds and sufficient vision will see below, the top-ranked report is still top ranked weeks after it was first published. Several of the reports below cover issues apparently too hot to handle for the seemingly allied sources that routinely carry MHI’s water.
Given that the data for the past 8 months in manufactured housing reflects a sharp downturn that others may not be publicly mentioning on their sites, one wonders what definition of ‘news’ is being used by pro-MHI sources? Worse still is the fact that the downturn in manufactured housing is occurring while far more costly conventional housing is recovering. Official federal data figures for conventional housing vs. manufactured housing are linked in the report here. But do not expect to find those same figures on the publicly facing pages of MHI, MHInsider, ManufacturedHomes.com, or Allen’s blog. How can they dare claim to be definitive (or like terminology) news?
If someone wants to know what is actually occurring in manufactured housing, there is only one news source that they can turn to for reliable information that properly cites sources and provides expert analysis and various viewpoints too. You are reading that source.
Note that 12,704,080 pageviews and 1,500,299 visits (in an industry that MHI has claimed supposedly some 75,000 full time employees) are the ones recorded on our websites main cPanel: there are a dozen others that serve our site. Meaning our actual total traffic and pageviews on MHProNews is higher still! That one cPanel’s data for MHProNews is per Webalizer Ver 2.23, which is connected to the server for accuracy. As a disclosure, note that in the listing of the most-read articles that follow, some items are omitted for proprietary reasons. That said, the listing of top articles are the top read articles per third-party Webalizer 2.23.
The information is per the report entitled: Usage Statistics for manufacturedhomepronews.com | Summary by Month | Generated 01-Aug-2023 07:09 CDT | Generated by Webalizer Version 2.23. Note that below each featured image has in this article the date that report was uploaded, per WordPress. So, as an example, the #1 article for the month below was posted on June 1, 2023. The scandal involving Gary Shiffman, which was documented in the illustration linked here as being too hot for the others to handle, is still number 1 two months later! ICYMI, or need a refresher, it and the other top 30 for July 2023 are as follows. The number 2 article is another MHVille exclusive about Triad Financial Services, as is the number 3 ranked article on ZippyMH, and the number 4 article on thousands of unhappy employees at leading MHI linked firms. Several of the others articles ranked in the listing that follows are found only on MHProNews and nowhere else in MHVille trade media. These are prime examples of why we are the apparent runaway leader, and why even our rivals and prominent MHI-linked members have praised our reporting.
With no further ado, here is the top 30 articles for July 2023. Look closely at the topics and the dates. More on that in Part II below.
Part I
Part II – Additional Information with More MHProNews Analysis and Commentary
Note that per Webalizer, thousands of referral paths/other articles were accessed during the month, even if some were posted years ago and were only accessed in the single digits.
That is another way of saying that the 30 articles linked above are the pinnacle of engagement by manufactured housing professionals and others who flock to MHProNews looking for facts, accurate information, and clear evidence for why manufactured housing is underperforming during an affordable housing crisis.
The Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) website, per SimilarWeb, had 22700 total visits in June x 1.13 pageviews per visit for a total of 25,651 (22700 x 1.13 = 25651). Per Webalizer, MHProNews on our main (out of a bakers dozen) cPanels recorded 1,124,699 pageviews. Restated, MHProNews had 43.846 times the pageviews in June than MHI did. Note that MHI’s visits and pageview rates appear to be similar now as about a decade ago, per a dated report. MHI no longer appears to offer traffic information, perhaps because they are embarrassed by such comparisons.

It is apparent that MHProNews (we’ll plan to do ManufacturedHomeLivingNews.com another time) is a place that tens of thousands come for research into manufactured housing, or to see news, tips and views often found nowhere else in MHVille trade media. For example, #25 shown and linked above is about National Homes and is a historic item from a decade ago (2013). Why that report suddenly surged is a fair question. But the fact that MHProNews had that information and apparently others in MHVille don’t have such info are among the reasons that MHProNews dominates as a source for reliable news, tips, fact checks, and views.
By having more content, better content, fact checks that stand up to scrutiny, and that this writer is one of only 16 featured speakers on a federal events panel discussing manufactured housing industry issues out of a U.S. population of 330 million people should speak volumes.
IF and when our would-be trade rivals and/or MHI publicly show apples-to-apples statistics (e.g.: 12,704,080 pageviews |1,500,299 = 8.46769877204 pageviews per visit for the year) or other equally definitive data on specific articles of theirs, we as a publication are willing to go deeper in the data we present too. But based upon previous research, including another example using their data linked here, there are reasons to believe that our #30 article above could well have more total visits than all of our named rivals for a given week combined.
That data strongly suggests that professional people want to KNOW.
Per well-placed sources to MHProNews, even those being critiqued in reports on MHProNews want to KNOW.
Note how often legal issues are in the top accessed reports?
Perhaps it is no surprise that information about the largest firms busily consolidating manufactured housing are among the top-read reports month after month. MHProNews uniquely shares in depth reports that give readers what the fact-checked source has said, and then unpacks it with expert analysis. As readers increasingly see the value of why Warren Buffett, like him and his ethics or not, puts such high stock in reading for understanding, and the reasons why MHProNews dominates in our space is obvious.
Current events. Historic items. Insights on industry controversies that are often not found anywhere else in MHVille trade media. Reports on topics that get to root issues that third-party researchers indicate are impediments holding manufactured housing back from achieving its true potential. No wonder industry pros have been praising MHProNews for years.
Thank you for making and keeping us the runaway #1 source for manufactured housing “Industry News, Tips, and Views Pros Can Use.” ©
For those who want to learn more so that they can earn more, MHProNews is “like no place else!” in MHVille. The facts, evidence, research, and depth of content speak for themselves.
Programming Notice: Note that 4 out of the top 30 articles featured Gary Shiffman, CEO of Sun Communities. Watch for a Sun Communities featured report in the days ahead. Note too that others in MHVille didn’t dare tackle the evidence-backed Shiffman insurance scam controversy. Why not?
- No one in MHVille gives more financial news as MHProNews.
- No one in MHVille provides more evidence-based fact checks as MHProNews.
- No one in MHVille trade media digs as deeply into third-party research into manufactured housing as MHProNews.
- Apparently, no one in MHVille has as many mainstream media relationships and insights.
- The list could go on, but you get the point. We’re the apparent runway #1 largest, most-read and the BEST. No wonder so many read here and so few are reading the rest…
Sadly, people palter, lie, posture and deploy deception and misdirection. We try to shed the burning light that makes reality clearer and actionable.
Notice: the graphic below can be expanded to a larger size.
Despite the pushback and apparently deceptive mudslingers out there, again, thank you for making and keeping us #1. Next time you encounter a tall talking wanna-be MHVille media rival or someone from MHI, please laugh, smile, or snicker at ’em as appropriate, will ya? ##
