From the North Little Rock Times, MHProNews.com has learned that the North Little Rock City Council voted unanimously Monday to send back a proposal to pass zoning requirements to the city Planning Commission. The aldermen hit an impasse about how to govern the mobile and manufactured housing of Crystal Hill, the site of the zoning controversy. Under the ordinance, most of the area would be zoned R-2, which prohibits mobile homes and most manufactured houses. Existing manufactured homes would be grandfathered in, but would have to be replaced with site-built housing. Under the zoning code, manufactured homes are permitted in R-6 or R-7 areas. Alderman Debi Ross was quoted in the article as saying some manufactured homes are nicer than traditional homes.
