2) From a different report on ZeroHedge on 5.1.2024 is the following.

…The New Civil Liberties Alliance (NCLA), which consists of a team of 27 lawyers and support staff, including former judges, had four of the cases they litigated go before the Supreme Court in 2023. One case was decided in their favor, the remaining three are pending.

Founded by Columbia Law professor Philip Hamburger six years ago, the NCLA targets cases where they believe federal agencies have blatantly overstepped their authority or violated civil liberties..

“Normally, administrative power is understood as a separation of powers question, but it’s also a civil liberties problem because it dilutes our voting rights,” Mr. Hamburger told The Epoch Times. “We all get to vote, but the ability to make legislation is no longer in the hands of the people we elect.”

The U.S. Constitution vests Congress with law-making authority. However, government agencies are not only making laws today, he said, they also enforce those laws, then act as judge and jury over alleged violations. Taking a historical view on this issue, Mr. Hamburger argues that such administrative “absolutism” is not a new phenomenon, but merely a modern expression of absolute power once wielded by medieval kings.

The group’s clients include Drs. Jay Bhattacharya, Martin Kulldorff, and Aaron Kheriaty, and Ms. Jill Hines, plaintiffs in the case of Murthy v. Missouri, which is currently before the Supreme Court. This case involves alleged violations of the doctors’ First Amendment rights by the White House, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the FBI, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and the Surgeon General.

“It deprives us of the right to a jury; it deprives us of ordinary burdens of proof; it deprives us of having an unbiased judge,” he said. “We have ALJs and commissioners instead.”

ALJ’s are “executive judges for official and unofficial hearings of administrative disputes in the federal government,” according to a Cornell Law School definition.

“Administrative law judges are considered part of the executive branch, not the judicial branch, and ALJs are appointed by the heads of the executive agencies.”

In this way, Mr. Hamburger said, the administrative state has not only accumulated powers explicitly vested in other branches of government; it has consolidated within itself the power of all three branches.

The NCLA’s actions have been resonating in America’s court system, particularly the Supreme Court. …”

That is an issue similar to the one MHProNews previously reported and linked below. These are reportedly often small business cases.  Note that these issues are among those that have apparently been ignored by post-production MHI in their general email to industry members.  Yet, immigration obviously impacts housing and apparently unconstitutional power grabs by bureaucrats is an obvious threat to potentially thousands of smaller businesses in our industry.

3) Next, part of an attorney-turned award-winning journalist Glenn Greenwald email to MHProNews on 4.30.2024 said: “Russia Gains in Ukraine as Another Media Hoax is Revealed, PLUS: The Media’s WH Pageant…”

Per Greenwald, the following.

Good evening. It’s Monday, April 29.

Tonight: When Russian activist Alexei Navalny died in a Russian prison in February, it was asserted over and over by the U.S. media and U.S. politicians that Russian President Vladimir Putin had ordered him murdered but did not mean that metaphorically—that because Putin presides over a country where dissidents are in prison, unlike the United States, it meant that he bore ultimate moral responsibility for his death. No, they meant it literally. They were asserting that Navalny died because Putin ordered his murder.

As we reviewed at the time, none of those claims made sense. Navalny died just days after Tucker Carlson interviewed Putin in his first interview with a Western journalist in more than two years and right as the $60 billion package that Biden had requested for Ukraine appeared to be permanently stalled in the GOP-led House. Why would Vladimir Putin, in the midst of all of that, order Alexei Navalny killed while he was already incommunicado in prison? And why would he then hand the West a major propaganda weapon to use against him? But none of those questions mattered. In fact, it was claimed that only Kremlin propagandists would even ask them.

As we have seen ever since Russia became Public Enemy Number 1 in the United States when Democrats blamed that country for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 loss, the U.S. government and its corporate media servants assert anything and everything about Putin without the slightest regard for whether it’s true, and even more so, regardless of whether the claim even makes basic sense. That’s because, again, nobody can question any claims about that country, the world’s largest nuclear power, without instantly being maligned as a Kremlin apologist or a Kremlin asset. That Putin ordered Navalny’s murder was treated as an unquestionable fact by the U.S. corporate media.

As it turns out, this claim was completely fabricated. The Wall Street Journal reported late last week that even the U.S. intelligence community now admits there is no evidence of Putin’s involvement in Navalny’s death. This hoax, just the latest in a long line designed to manipulate the American public into drowning in anti-Russia animus and even wanting war with them, was exposed as Ukraine continues to retreat and Russia continues to expand its control of that country in that war that is still ongoing.

Thanks to House Speaker Mike Johnson, who spent years claiming he was opposed to more aid to Ukraine until he completely changed his mind and united with the Biden White House as he did on several other issues, the U.S. is now sending another $60 billion to a war that even Ukrainians are increasingly recognizing is futile and are refusing to fight in it. The propaganda served its purpose, though, of having the U.S. prolong this war, but the steep price being paid by Ukraine and by the American people continues to grow.

Then: Each year, the White House press corps gets dressed up in gowns and other finery to attend a gaudy, sleazy, ostentatious gala at the White House that would embarrass Marie-Antoinette. They embarrassingly hobnob and pose with celebrities and with the White House, including the president, the person who they supposedly cover so adversarial, all while they showered themselves with praise and various awards. The primary function of this spectacle is that it reveals the true role of the U.S. press corps. They are eager members of the royal court, courtiers of it. This year was no different, and we will show you the lowlights that were particularly revealing about our current press corps. …”

4) From the left and from the right, there are voices willing to challenge and expose “the System,” “the Establishment,” “the Swamp,” “the Blob” or whatever someone wants to use to describe the nexus between big government, big media, and the big financial interests that are widely said to be de facto running the U.S. in an oligopoly, feudalistic, plutocratic, or autocratic-socialist-fascist style. Our nation is legally a republic.  Britannica explains that: “A republic is a form of government in which the people elect, or choose, their leaders. In most countries with a republican government, the people elect the head of the government, such as a president. They also elect other people, called representatives, to make laws.” While there may seem to be similarities between a democracy and a republic, a republic has certain features meant to check power and secure the rights of a minority.

While the U.S. is commonly called a democracy, even the Pledge of Allegiance reminds us of the reality.

“I pledge allegiance to the Flag
of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands:
one Nation under God, indivisible,
with Liberty and Justice for all.”

5) The battle for the future of America is being waged in part with information and misinformation. There are truths supported by facts and evidence. Then there are half-truths, spin, paltering, ignoring or avoiding facts, and a variety of methods used to manipulate large segments of the population.

To understand the present, it is helpful to understand the past which led us to this present moment in time.

The purported purpose of ‘fake’ or misleading news is precisely manipulation. By shaping a narrative that may seem to fit the facts, impressions can be created.  Those impressions may be half-truths or even outright lies. This has been carefully examined in reports like those linked below.

6) Related to those reports above, per BrainyQuotes, leftist Noam Chomsky has said: “Any dictator would admire the uniformity and obedience of the U.S. media. Like it or not, American history is littered with such incidents that Greenwald, Roberts, Graham, Chomsky and others have described.

You had to crush them to defend yourselves. We have our ways, too. Over the last ten years, every year ot two, some major monster is constructed that we have to defend ourselves against.”

Note that MHProNews is not endorsing every nuance of these remarks, they reflect the views of those expressing them.  That noted, Chomsky’s point about the two major parties being factions of the “business party” is similar to the concern that some who support the GOP have had about the so-called Uniparty.

Chomsky’s expression about the ‘business party’ vs. the Uniparty may be more precise because it is business interests – be it on the left (Democrat) or right (so-called Establishment Republicans) that are behind the curtain with campaign and PAC donations, lobbying, etc.  That is apparently clear to Heritage’s Roberts, who in conjunction with others is pushing for a reformed Republican Party that holds to MAGA or America First type policies. Some of these issues are near the core of Project 2025, which Heritage is working on in a coalition with a broader group of nonprofits.  The first article linked below is the Biden-leftist response to Project 2025 efforts.

During the course of the video below, 9/11, the Iraq War, the Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, the Vietnam War and other topics are covered. Note that while YouTube, citing left-leaning Wikipedia, puts a label on this video, the term New World Order has been used by Joe Biden, per the White House’s own website: “And now is a time when things are shifting. We’re going to — there’s going to be a new world order out there, and we’ve got to lead it.” The late President George H.W. Bush, per his library website, said: “Out of these troubled times, our fifth objective — a new world order — can emerge.” From that same Bush library and museum website are these remarks made by the then president to Congress on 1991-01-29: “What is at stake is more than one small country; it is a big idea: a new world order, where diverse nations are drawn together in common cause…” It was so important to Bush, a former director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) that he used that phrase twice in speaking to Congress. “The world can, therefore, seize this opportunity to fulfill the long-held promise of a new world order…”  There are numerous references to that by presidents of both major parties and from sources on the left and right. Per Brookings.edu: “Obama’s swan song has eloquently, though incompletely, spelt out an ambitious but essential vision for a new world order.” So, whatever left-leaning Wikipedia may want to express, there is clear evidence from public officials spanning decade and involving both major parties. The video below was produced before the Trump era. Trump apparently rejected the notion of the sort of globalist “New World Order” that both “Establishment” Bush presidents (R) and “Establishment” Democratic Presidents Clinton and Obama embraced in their own ways. That’s not to imply that every syllable or word in what follows is the gospel. But it is a useful introduction to the thinking of experts, it cites sources that can be reviewed, and is thus worth exploring and considering in the light of other facts.

10) General Butler’s warnings predated those of President Dwight D. “Ike” Eisenhauer (R) by some years.

11) After Ike, there was Democratic President John F. Kennedy, who wanted to smash the CIA. Kennedy is known to have used what is called “backchannels” at various times instead of his own State Department.  Why? Because he knew that the bureaucracy may not function as hoped for and designed.

The second quote by President Kennedy is an indication that at least some Democrats in his era did not agree with the policies of the contemporary ‘tax, borrow, and spend’ Democrats and their RINOs allies in the ‘business party’ of today. And as leftist Michael Weinstein noted, there are interest groups beyond the military-spy-industrial complex. Among them are the affordable-housing-industrial complex, which he accused “Corporate Democrats” of betraying their base in order to placate crony business interests.

12) MHProNews presents periodic reports like this one for several reasons. One, because manipulative methods such as propaganda, paltering, and posturing are ongoing, there is a regular need to understand the realties behind the facades.  Two, hopefully, over time, these insights seep into the minds of regular readers who in turn will learn to spot false, faked, and incomplete narratives that drive an agenda for some powerful interest.  The overall steady increase in readership and engagement in the past two years is evidence that suggests that may be occurring.

There is no interest in solving “homelessness” or housing problems, mused Chomsky, any more than there are the other problems that our society faces. Stirring up fear, be it from microbes, or enemies foreign or domestic is just part of the tactics to keep the masses divided and distracted.

There is a pressing need to reform the federal government and the major parties. Democrats who can’t bring themselves to vote for Trump, the figure whom the “Deep State” and “the Swamp” seem to fear the most, have the option of voting for independent Robert F. “Bobby” Kennedy Jr.  Like Trump, who also ripped the Bush family publicly and repeatedly for their many problematic behaviors in the wake of 9.11, RFK Jr. echoes parts of the concerns raised by fellow leftist Chomsky and Weinstein.

Kennedy said that Biden is a greater threat to the U.S. than Trump. There are other leftists running under various independent-minor party banners.

14) Trump is the presumptive Republican nominee.  The Claremont Institute Chairman Tom Klingenstein said that there is a war on the American way of life, and that people should rally around Trump.

15) It is entirely possible that Biden will step down/be replaced before or after the Democratic Convention by Kamala Harris or some other personality from the left. It therefore must be kept in mind that Harris or whomever are part of a team effort and that opposing one should be applied to opposing any replacement.

A D.C. insider who served under Trump told MHProNews recently that “elections have consequences.” Quite so. Heritage’s Roberts has made the point that they may have lost the battle in that skirmish with the RINO wing of the Business Party.  But he may have a point that the tied is turning and that the GOP will be transformed into an America First Party.  That said, it is a process, and it will take time and ongoing engagement and vigilance.
