As was formally disclosed yesterday, the new president and CEO of the Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) will be M. Mark Weiss, JD.
Making this announcement in Washington D.C., John Bostick – MHARR Chairman and President of Sunshine Homes – told MHProNews that: “MHARR will not miss a single beat in making a seamless transition from Danny Ghorbani, our President and CEO of nearly thirty years to a trusted and capable colleague in Mark Weiss who has been an important part of the MHARR team in the nation’s capital for over two decades.”
Weiss is an honors graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in Political Science. The then went on to earn his Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the George Washington University School of Law in Washington, D.C.. in 1983.
The incoming MHARR CEO then began working on manufactured housing regulatory issues almost immediately as an attorney for the firm of Casey, Scott & Canfield, P.C., which was then the General Counsel for the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI). That firm was later the General Counsel for MHARR when the association was founded in 1985. Weiss later became General Counsel for MHARR in his own right, and he has been MHARR’s Senior Vice President since 2006.
During the announcement from Washington, D.C., Weiss said: “It is a privilege and honor for me to continue serving the industry and MHARR and to succeed my friend and mentor, Danny Ghorbani, as President and CEO of MHARR. Needless to say Danny is a legend in the industry, who leaves big shoes to fill and I expect to work hard every day to justify the trust and confidence that the members of our association have placed in me.”
Weiss has been present at numerous meetings of the Manufactured Housing Consensus Committee (MHCC), at the Manufactured Housing Executives Council (MHEC) and in hundreds of meetings with federal officials and industry leaders at all levels.
