The Lewiston Sun Journal of Maine reports the Maine Modular Housing Show will be held in Oxford Hills April 15-17. Scott Stone of Schiavi Homes in Oxford says he’s having a pretty good winter despite the downturn in the overall housing market. Last year he says he saw a lot of first time buyers with first-time home buyer credit. This year he’s seeing more out-of-state residents who are buying a second home. He also says the stick-built home industry may not be recovering as quickly as the modular and manufactured industry because during the downturn many of the trades people left looking for work elsewhere. Chamber of Commerce Executive Director John Williams says, “We’re looking for another successful show. Last year we had thousands of people who came.”
