“The California Housing Finance Agency has released new guidelines for lending on manufactured homes that will increase access to housing for low- and moderate-income homebuyers who use a CalHFA mortgage insured by the Federal Housing Administration,” said a release to the Daily Business News (DBN) on MHProNews.
“New guidelines encourage safe, affordable loans for manufactured homes,” CalHFA the release stated.
“Manufactured homes play an important role in affordable housing for California,” said Tia Boatman Patterson, CalHFA’s Executive Director. “The more of these incremental steps we can take, the faster we’ll be on our way to addressing the housing shortage in our state.”
California is one of the top ten states for manufactured housing, per recent data reported on the DBN, linked here.
MHLivingNews and MHProNews have been promoting manufactured home acceptance in California, as do businesses and several industry associations.
