As modularhomecoach tells MHProNews, in blasting the lack of positive PR for the modular housing industry, the blog says neither the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) nor the Modular Building Systems Association (MBSA) cares if Baby is left in the corner, but like Johnny says in Dirty Dancing, “nobody puts Baby in a corner.” We need to be like Johnny. The blogger writes, “We build houses. Modular houses. Green and energy efficient houses. We build some of the best damn houses in the US but who knows about us?” Noting the pickup in the housing industry overall, the modular industry is a niche market with an excellent product but information about the industry on a national basis is scarce, and lots of people are in the market to buy a home. “Coach”, as the blogger is referred to, says modular housing is likened to mobile homes, and that shipping containers converted to living quarters gets more coverage than the modular housing industry. Coach closes, “We are modular housing. We are the best housing choice and we don’t want to remain a niche entity much longer. Stick builders can be our niche market!”
