Man tries to sell non-existent manufactured home

jailbirdPolice in North Wildwood, New Jersey, have arrested a Pennsylvania man and charged him with attempting to sell a manufactured home that didn’t exist.

The Wildwood Leader tells MHProNews that on Thursday, February 19, North Wildwood Police detectives followed up on a report made to police regarding a fraud case. The victim paid $25,000 to Robert Dimaio, Jr. for a manufactured home he claimed to be selling. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Dimaio never had a manufactured home to sell and kept the money to defraud the victim.

Dimaio, 61, who resides in Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania, was charged by Detective Justin Melo with theft, theft by deception and theft by failure to make required disposition. Judge Louis J. Belasco Jr. set bail at $15,000 for these charges.

At the time Dimaio was charged, he was being detained in the Cape May County Correctional Facility awaiting extradition to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a fugitive from justice for fraud related charges out of Berks County. ##
