Dozens – perhaps hundreds – of manufactured housing industry professionals will be attending an auction today in metro Chicago. Some 90 new and pre-owned manufactured homes, including single sections, multi-sectionals and Cape Cod style HUD Code homes are to be auctioned by floor plan lenders and their representatives. The homes have been available for viewing in the days prior to the auction. Those participating had to register and supply appropriate letters of credit. The last metro area auction, was held in Bourbonnais, drew large crowds and resulted in savings of some 30%, according to participants.
