Tyler Craddock, Executive Eirector of the Virginia Manufactured and Modular Housing Association (VAMMHA), provided a snapshot of good news accomplished via that organization’s collective efforts.
In reviewing what VAMMA achieved during the past year, Craddock tells MHProNews that the most significant success was an important legislative victory that benefits home owners as well as association members.
“Earlier this year, the Governor of Virginia signed into law legislation carried by Senator John Cosgrove that we requested,” Craddock explained. “This important legislative change cleans and standardizes the manner in which manufactured homes are converted to real property for customers who choose to attach their home to land they own. Moreover, it allows homes severed from real property (i.e., trade-ins) to be re-titled, and it allows DMV to work with homeowners to title homes for which they can demonstrate ownership, but for which normal paperwork is not available.”
As many industry readers know, VAMMHA represents the factory-built housing industry in Virginia. They serve as one of the strongest voices for quality, affordable housing opportunities for Virginia families. Their membership reaches across all sections of the industry. ##
