MHProNews has learned from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that one of the first seven manufactured homes to house survivors of the Butte and Valley wildfires will be available for media members to tour on Friday, Oct. 23 at McClellan Park in McClellan, California.
Being installed by the state’s Office of Emergency Services (OES), representatives of FEMA will be present to answer questions about the MH units and the process of qualifying.
As MHProNews reported Oct. 14, 2015, FEMA was not certain how many MH would be needed. At that time, $7.49 million in FEMA funds had been disbursed to some of the 2,268 Lake County victims for household repair and replacement as well as for temporary lodging. FEMA was also seeking opportunities to site the manufactured homes, and have evidently been successful. ##
