The units are being shipped in from storage areas in Cumberland, MD and Salem, AL as af.mil tells MHProNews. During the Cold War Ellsworth was lined with B-52 Stratofortress bombers, but the facility is not used for that now. Additionally, the homes will not disrupt any of the current work being done on the base.
Based in Fairfax, VA, Dewberry is managing partner of the Partnership for Temporary Housing (PaTH), LLC, and is providing engineering and consulting services to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in preparing the infrastructure and landscaping, as well as transporting and siting the homes. PaTH is a joint venture with Parsons Corp. and Dyncorp International.
This marks the first Presidential disaster declaration made directly to an Indian tribe. ##
