Following a story MHProNews last reported on Nov. 23, 2015 regarding temporary manufactured homes (MH) for survivors of the wildfires in Northern California, uniondemocrat reports 22 MH are set up in Calaveras County and ten are occupied.
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) spokesman Victor Inge said 12 have been sited in a development intended for stick-built homes. “Somehow, it got trapped by not having water. We stepped in and got a waiver. Now the water meters can be put in,” he stated.
Of the 22, 12 are in the development in San Andreas, eight are on private sites, and the others are in different locations around the county.
Inge added that since the $4.9 million in housing assistance and miscellaneous expenses granted late last year, no other funds have been disbursed to Butte fire victims. ##
