McGill Commercial of Beaverton, Oregon wants to build an age-restricted, 103-homesite manufactured housing community at the northern edge of Florence, OR, according to register-guard.com. On July 7, the city council voted unanimously to change the zoning from commercial to manufactured homes. McGill paid $450,000 for the 13.7-acre tract, and plans are afoot to begin the project in the near future. Mayor Nola Xavier said the July 7 meeting only covered the zoning issue, and the building plans have yet to be submitted to the council.
