Shell Oil is cutting spending by $15 billion, McDonald’s is closing 350 restaurants worldwide and does not expect April’s results to show improvement, and most blue chip stock results for Q1 are less than spectacular. While on the Big Board today:
The Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up +0.49 percent, +88.68 points, to end the day at 18,038.27
The NASDAQ moved up +0.42 percent, +21.07 points, to close at 5,035.17.
The S&P 500 also gained slightly, +0.51 percent, +10.67 points, to end at 2,107.96.
