Before diving into the headline topics, let’s briefly comment on what so many pundits missed in Monday’s Iowa Caucus results.

On the Democratic side, the questions hanging over their photo-finish results may prove to be worse for Hillary Clinton’s once inevitable campaign than if Bernie Sanders had won Iowa outright. Among the headlines Tuesday Morning on the Drudge Report:

It’s hard to see how those an other issues won’t dog the former First Lady and Madam Secretary.

For Republicans, there where three over-performers, not two or one.

Yes, Ted Cruz won. But Donald Trump did better than expected with evangelicals, with conservatives, others and he stood up to Fox News, all in Iowa. The Donald was behind double digits at one point in Iowa, and came back first against Ben Carson, and then vs. Ted Cruz. He was gracious in his taking second place.

Marco Rubio over-performed too, and will have some wind in his sails as he was not far behind Mr. Trump. It’s hard to see a path for Jeb Bush, Rand Paul or half a dozen other candidates mired in single digit polling that have or soon will need to bow out of the race for their party’s nomination.

The energy is still with the outsiders like Trump, Cruz and the fresh face of Senator Rubio, and with those who feel the Bern.

How will the race for the Oval Office – and election contests for House and the Senate play out for MH? We’ll keep an eye on that and more for you.

Facts, Figures, Fears, Fables and Frustrations – for – Fearless, Fix-It February in MHVille
